Weekend Workshop with Aili Kurtis

“Paint at Pike Lake”

Where? Aili’s studio, on beautiful Pike Lake, is situated about 10 minutes from both Perth and Westport; about an hour’s drive from Kingston; one hour and a quarter from Ottawa. Some accommodation is available at Aili’s house ($50/night). There are many wonderful B&Bs and restaurants in Westport and Perth.

Who? This workshop is open to people of all levels of artistic ability and experience.
Limited enrollment of eight allows for everyone to get plenty of individual coaching.

What? Bring your own art supplies: work in the media of your choice. Easels, tables, chairs and lunches will be provided. Paint in the studio or “en plein air” on the deck, in the gardens, or by the lake. Composition, values, and self-expression will be emphasized. Enjoy the spring colours and your innate creativity!

When? Friday 6-8 pm: Greetings. Bring along some of your work for discussion.
Saturday 9:30am to 5:00pm: Painting, demonstrations, instruction.
Sunday 9:30 am to 4:00 pm: Painting, demos, critiques, goodbyes.


Aili Kurtis has a degree in Art Education from the University of Quebec and taught at the Ottawa School of Art for 10 years. She is a Master Pastellist with the Pastel Artists Canada, and is a member of the Ottawa Art Association and Ottawa Mixed Media Association.
